Morning Sickness During Pregnancy

Now that you have a POSITIVE pregnancy test, you may also be feeling really “green”. Morning sickness usually shows it’s face between six and eight weeks. Why??? For many pregnant women, the eight week of pregnancy marks the point when production of hCG, the hormone that is responsible for helping to grow your baby’s placenta, and estrogen kick into high gear. Some moms can’t tolerate the rapid hormonal changes and suddenly feel sick.

Ways to Relieve Morning Sickness:

Get out of bed slowly and allow yourself additional time to get up. Keep some crackers or dry cereal close by.

Eat small meals throughout the day. Don’t get too full or too hungry. Also, be sure to drink plenty of fluids.

Get lots of rest, but try not to take a nap right after a meal because this can increase nausea.

Avoid spicy, greasy foods.
