FAQ section and common questions/concerns
What is the difference between 3D ultrasound and 4D ultrasound?
3D is a still image while 4D adds dimension of motion so it looks like a video
Is 3D and 4D ultrasound safe for me and my baby?
3D and 4D ultrasounds use the same frequency as your doctor uses in the normal 2D ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been used for over 35 years and there has been no proven side effects from its proper use. We strictly adhere to the FDA’s standards.
What is your facility like?
We are located in an upscale office building and we pride ourselves on being an inviting, relaxing, and comfortable studio. We have a spacious environment for you and your family.
Do you accept insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective procedure. We currently accept major credit/debit cards and cash.
When is the best time for me to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?
We welcome you to visit Blooming Baby 4D multiple times during your pregnancy in order to see your baby at the different stages. We offer 2D Ultrasound as early as 8 weeks and can begin capturing baby in 3D/4D at 15 weeks and beyond. We recommend coming in for 3D/4D & HD Live shots of the face between 28-32 weeks. This is the time when your baby starts to develop more fat and their facial features become more defined. After 36 weeks it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good pictures because the baby is running out of room. However, all babies are different and we have been successful in obtaining great images up to 39 weeks.
Are family and friends welcome to join?
Yes! We encourage you to invite your family and friends to share these special moments with you. Our viewing room can comfortably seat 5-6 people but more are welcome to come if they would like to stand and watch. Children are also welcome and we provide them with plenty of toys and books to keep them entertained (as if they won’t be entertained enough with all of the excitement).
How long will my 3D/4D session last?
The length of your session will depend on what package you choose. Plan to arrive a few minutes early in order to fill out paperwork and plan to be at the studio for 30-45 minutes. If you are more than 5 minutes late to your appointment, you may have to reschedule. We run on an appointment based schedule, so please be courteous and communicate with us if you will be late or would like to reschedule.
What if you can’t determine the sex of my baby?
We offer gender determination as early as 14 weeks. We never guess at it, so if we aren’t 100% sure we will offer one free rescan. The number one reason for a rescan is usually due to the baby’s position.
When will I get my pictures?
You will receive your pictures the same day prior to leaving the studio.
What if we don’t get good photos?
At Blooming Baby, we offer one free rescan if we aren’t able to get at least half of the baby’s face (for baby’s 24 weeks and up). Be sure to drink lots of water 3-5 days prior to your session to ensure that your amniotic fluid is clear. There are many things out of the sonographer’s control like the baby’s position, the mother’s body habitus, amount of amniotic fluid, etc.
Will my doctor’s office be contacted about the 3D/4D ultrasound?
