Everything That You Need During Your Pregnancy

Support.

For most of us, pregnancy is a new journey.  Even if it’s your second or third pregnancy, each one is different and new.  Having support during this time is essential.  Whether it be a family member, a close friend, or an online support group, be sure that you lean on something or someone.

A “Good” Pillow.

You might not buy into the whole pregnancy pillow trend, but I am here to tell you to get you a “good” pillow.  I am usually a soft fluffy individual but during my pregnancy I opted for firm and solid.  The pregnancy pillow trend wasn’t for me either because the pillows were too soft.  I am sure that the selection is much larger now than it was 7 years ago!

Morning Sickness Remedies.

Morning sickness is always a hot topic when it comes to pregnancy.  It has always been so bizarre to me how one person can experience nausea and vomiting their entire pregnancy and others have zero symptoms at all.  Every single one of my pregnancies was different.  If you do experience morning sickness, finding what works to ease those symptoms is tricky.  Here are some tips to try:

  • Eat a small snack as soon as your feet hit the floor in the morning
  • Increase your water intake
  • Try some essentials oils such as lavender and mint
  • Learn to like ginger
  • Eat small meals throughout the day
  • Skip the caffeine

Comfortable Clothes/Shoes.

Pregnancy is the one time in your life where you get a “pass” for everything.  Take advantage of it!  Embrace the journey and make yourself comfortable while you’re there.  Whether you work from home or at the office, take pressure off of yourself to look your very best at all times.

Water, Water, Water.

I cannot stress this enough.  Please drink your water. The recommended amount is 8 to 12 cups per day.  Grab you a cute Stanley or Yeti while you’re at it!

Vitamins.

Vitamins during pregnancy are also essential.  Most prenatal vitamins contain much of what we need during these nine months but feel free to talk with your healthcare provider about adding additional vitamins to your daily routine.  My second child was born with a cleft palate so during my third pregnancy I made sure to increase my folic acid.
